e8500 OC

Coretemp reports VID of 1.15.

Not sure if 3.8 will be totally stable at 1.25V in bios yet as not primed.

Don't want to go over 1.3 though.

Coretemp has my cores idling at 49 degrees, and Realtemp has the idling at 39 degrees.

Which do I believe?

Also, this is currently with no OC and with speedstep enabled. Don't those temps seem high, even going by the Realtemp temps?

Thanks, but like i said thats at stock, and I dont' know which of those temps to believe. Is coretemp or Realtemp giving the correct reading?

So guys, still would like to know if Realtemp mroe accurate than coretemp.

I have a Coolermaster Hyper TX 2 on it, which should be better than stock from reviews I checked out.

If I assume that Realtemp is correct, the CPU is idling at around 39c, and when I ran small FFT's in Prime last night, it went to around 54c. This seems a little high for no overclock at all. Or is it right?

Seems I got a bit of a dud... 3.8GHz Requires 1.3V, 4GHz, requires 1.38, and 4.2GHz wasnt stable with 1.4V which is the highest I would be willing to go. Have settled on 3.8.

Just wish for once I was the person to get one of the good clockers. I just never seem to have that kind of luck, whether it be CPU or GPU :(
