E8500 OFICIAL O/C THREAD!

41ghz.jpg

still running orthos, E8400 at 4.1GHz with 1.3vcore in BIOS

i reduced from 4.2ghz to 4ghz on air, seems like everything is stable untill i start to play high end games: crysis, Cod4, dead space, prince of persia, etc...games or crash, loading more than 20min, etc ...so system i guess not stable

ehis is my bios:

any suggestions to improve performance and get stable system?

i tried different voltages, GTL, etc. but it doesn't help

i would like to get 4ghz stable...or 3.8ghz in case...

How is your over clocking going b-star?

well, i went to 4.2ghz on air... the temperature was a bit high, so i dropped to 3.8ghz for now, till i get a new CPU cooler!

3.8ghz is stable even when everything on AUTO, till i play crysis, prince of persia...

started to play with bios, stable, even crysis runs great on maximum, but prince of persia lagging a bit, so something still not perfetimo:)

i use gurusans BIOS SETTING which he posted, but fsb 400 (for 3.8ghz)

will drop voltages today...will see after

cpu mulitiplier = 9.5

fsb memory = unlinked

fsb = 1600MHz

memory = 2000MHz

memory timings = 999242t

cpu voltage = 1:34

cpu = vtt 1:22

memory voltage = 1:9v

nb core = 1:44

p1 and p2 = enabled

this is mine...if i remember well...

what would you recommend to change?

What type of ram do you? would be good to see what they run at? Also try increaseing NB FSB to around 1.45.
CPU PLL I think its a wee bit too high either set it to auto or bring it slightly above the cpu voltage.

Memory:
OCZ (4x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2P800R22GK)

you mean NB VOLTAGE TO 1.45?

which Cpu volt you have?

did you try to push till 4ghz?

Sorry, I know you are just trying to help... but he has a P5Q mobo which is based on an entirely different chipset, most of the settings from your board aren't relevant. For example 1.45V is waaay to high....1.3V gives me almost 533fsb.

b-star, the mobo settings I've recommended should get you to 4ghz. I think that the memory settings are holding you back since you say you cannot boot....try my recommended settings with memory voltage at 2.1V, and all memory timings on auto
