Just got my Q9550 and it's awesome. Excellent overclocker and extremely quick compared to my E6600

yes but e8500 would be much quicker then your e6600 as well.

I liked my e8400 more than my q9550 for most things. When you say multitasking, what do you have in mind?

The only area where the quad core pulled ahead for me was running multiple virtual machines

My e8500 is running at 4.0 24/7.
I have had it @4.5 just for testing.
Great chip IMO.

Great for games but multi tasking............o/k ish.
