Core temp and real temp should be giving you EXACTLY the same readings.

However you have to set the TJMAX manually in core temp 0.99.3 to 100C for 45nm Intels.

He should not need to, Core Temp /Speed Fan /Real Temp all now read same as TjMax is 100C for 45nm Duals (if you have LATEST builds).

Intel 45nm Quads are NOT 100C TjMax.

krisbutler... how did you get on?

I'd really like to know if you managed to achieve a 4.5GHz+ (Prime stable) OC. :)

I'm still stuck @ 4.5GHz. More volts don't seem to help and only increase temps. 4.5GHz is the max I can get ATM with sub 70C temps and remain fully stable.

Kris, I'm still amazed by your temps. I can't figure out how a Thermochill rad can make 20C difference?? My E8600 is also lapped and on it's own dedicated loop. I think you may have a VERY special chip on your hands there! Good for you if you can get it stable @ 4.6GHz. ;)

Also your Real Temp TJMax setting is wrong... s/b 100 and not 95, hence why your temp readings are different.

yeah it reads the same now ive changed it to 100 :) temps are 52 now after 45 mins

i wonder if lapping would make a difference to this chip or maybe its already got an amazing surface already?
