e8700 vs. AMD975

Well peeps this is pure speculation and a bit fun to look back in year

Now we know the AMD 965 is out soon fact, after that there should be AMD975 before xmas with AMD clocks std clocks being 3.6 - 3.8 soon the amd fans will be on 24/7 4Ghz hopefully. Question is will intell respond with the daddy e8700 uber clock and put the amd in there place so speak or will these new amd series finally be a challenge for the E8** ....what do we think?

The new AMD CPU such as the 955 / 965 are not that far behind i7 (and then only on certain tasks) they are already faster than intel 775 CPU

Intel are unlikly to release any further high end 775 chips, socket 1156 & 1366 will fight with the top AMDs.
