Hi Chaps

Looking at replacing my E46 330D which I've had for the last year, its been fantastic and done everything needed however i fancy an E92. I'm looking for a 330D Msport however I'm also considering a 325D Msport and if a decent 335D came up id also consider this. I currently do around 25 - 30K per year so really want to keep to a diesel.

Anything to look out for on the E92, any particular options that I shouldn't miss?. Bluetooth and Pro nav is a must for me.

Budget cap is around 16 - 17K

Thanks in advance

Sam

Haven't looked for a while, but would that budget get you CIC idrive?

I think at a push, that's what a 08 > 58 Car. Would probably get a 325D. Is the newer Idrive that much of an improvement though to warrant excluding cars with the older variant?

i thought you wanted an e92?

The newer idrive is signficantly better and you might just sneak one in, but at this budget i wouldnt be too bothered about it

Spending that much on an e90 is bonkers. Keep your e46 another year then buy an F30.

I absolutly agree.

I threw 11 grand at my E90 07 330i. I was lucky to realise that it was a heap of crap after my E46 and sold it for 11,250 6 months later.

( The E90 had every extra possible, so it wasn't the spec that got me down, it was the build quality and the money I had paid for it for something essentially that was lesser quality.)

Perhaps I'm getting confused

When did the E92 come in, is that just a facelift E90?

Given that you're looking at pre-ED diesels with the assoicated fuel economy, have you noticed the combined figure of the 325i/330i?

Are you specifically after an auto, or would a manual be considered?

E90, E91,E92, it's all the same plastic rattley crap.

Really?? Mine seems quite nice :p

Not plastic or rattley yet :D

Did the ED diesels come in after 58? Surely the difference is marginal

Ideally id prefer a manual however i heard the autos are pretty good :)

Pretty much, yea, though they don't like quite as old as the pre facelift E90's do now. As you know I had an E92 for a bit last year.

30k a year in an E92? Why would you do that :(

I find my E46 330D luxurious :p must be all those other cars ;)

what would you suggest for around 16k?

Sam

I couldn't imagine spending over 10k on an e9x with the (reportedly far superior) f30 out now. Can you wait a while and get a decent f30 for similar money?

Hasn’t the F30 only just been released, surely i would be waiting another year for them to lose some value?

It's not really that long in the scheme of things :p.

It's that awkward phase in the model cycle where the latest model is too new to be in budget but a good example of the older model is too expensive to justify.
