EA app - displayname field missing from registry - please help

Origin forced me to upgrade to the EA app. And now everytime i open it i get a pop up saying

displayname field missing from registry blah blah

I log in with my details but it doesn't go away. I just want to play BFV/1. Anyone got any idea how to get rid of it?

Have you got any weird characters in your username? You could try changing it via the web if so.

I deleted the BFV trail and it went away. I think i paid a couple of quid for it then it expired... Anyway it's gone now.
