The CEO of EA is to resign on 30th March...maybe we will see a change in there business model...or maybe not?

Anyway, just thought you might like to know...also, discuss?

EDIT: I couldn't find anything on search so posted.

someone else who understands figures and not gaming will likely get stuck in charge and try to rape gamers some more with rushed games and tons of DL$C

Would not be surprised if this was due to the fact that EA are getting more and more reviled every day. Their rep has gone down the pan.

Also would not be surprised if it was nothing to do with that.

Don't know who he is but good riddance to anyone in charge of any aspect EAs business model. Though i doubt anything will actually change in the quality of their games...

Him leaving won't change anything. EA have been the way they are for far longer than his reign. He'll just be replaced with a carbon copy, next in line, same business practices kind of guy but played in a different tune.

I highly doubt it'll change anything... I'm sorry to be so pessimistic but EA are a big corporation and I don't see them changing anytime soon :(

Nothing will change.

EA will continue to rush games and remove any pride the devs had for games in turn for cash churning monkeys. It's a shame :(

The thing is, EA simply have no idea at all what's going on. Either they don't know why their reputation is so bad, or maybe they don't even know it is as bad as it is. EA just give the impression of loving the smell of their own farts.

No doubt he will be replaced by another guy that looks at nothing but raw margins that expects things to sell simply because it exists.

Given that his reason is down to EAs financial performance I think we can safely assume they will continue trying to squeeze every last drop out of their customers:

“My decision to leave EA is really all about my accountability for the shortcomings in our financial results this year. It currently looks like we will come in at the low end of, or slightly below, the financial guidance we issued to the Street, and we have fallen short of the internal operating plan we set one year ago. And for that, I am 100 percent accountable.”

I still find it amazing that EA have managed to become more hated than Activision :D
I doubt anything will change, if anything they will probbly find someone who is an even bigger idiot.

Nothing good or bad will come out of this, hopefully in my life time they will go bankrupt so I hope the new guy that comes along keeps up these practices.
