Next generation of gamers that is. Not the new consoles.

I'm not anti EA in anyway. I'll generally avoid those titles where they are obvious cash grabs and such, but I'm looking forward to the next Mass Effect and a few others, but I heard something odd from my 10 year old son.

He plays Minecraft with his friends and when I was upstairs I heard him talking to his friends. He was telling them that the first Plants vs Zombies is better because it's not made by EA. Fair enough, but then he went onto say that EA just want you to pay money for stupid things.

Just thought it was kinda odd that my 10 year old boy talks amongst his friends that EA are robbing sods. Sure I see the subject in question on internet forums from gamers, but he's not a forum poster or reader. He just plays his DS, Ipad and Minecraft.

indeed. I guess it's just nice to know that even the kids are aware of the microtransaction stuff that plagues games, without me saying a word.

how many of those that can afford to waste money on dlc do though?
and how many of those that can't afford it and rant about it now will change there tune once they have regular income?

I'd agree though EA are all about milking us cows

It's actually a churnogy. They'll keep on pumping out sequels to anything that's successful until you stop buying it.

YES!!!!

Respect to him! Prehaps the yung un's are starting to see thro the BS hype.

Question tho, have you been putting these idea's in your head?

The best thing we as PC gamers do is keep on ****gin off EA so they cut us out, when they do, "projects" will start to emerge. Granted it will be a dark place for years... But one day it will emerge as a true force!!!

4!? I though the Ray Muzyka, Greg Zeschuk retired?

You do realise that there are 4 or 5 "BioWare" studios now?

Since EA bought them, they re-branded a number of their existing studios with the "BioWare" name.

Because they're evil.

It was a route BioWare was going down anyway. BioWare opened it's second studio (BioWare Austin) a year before the EA buyout.

Sounds like a switched on kid! Problem comes when all their sheep friends buy the new 'hip' game full of microtransactions and he doesn't want to be left out so gives in :(

I am old.

He sounds like such a Joffrey.

Had to laugh at this :D.

PopCap games still made the PvZ2 game. A really good studio with a few very addictive games to their name. But no doubt the nudge in the direction of microtransactions was from EA. Not exactly the first company to do it, doesn't help but why has it been done? Because people spend **** load's of cash on stuff like this. I hate to imagine what kind of profit's they are making from the Ultimate Team game modes alone.

Not surprising at all, as pvz2 was god awful and all about micro transactions.
And who is it that are buying micro transactions, they should be shot. Then developers wouldn't do it.
