EA Origin account hacked...

Hi Guys,

Any ideas would be helpful - I need to get in contact with EA to sort out my account. I recieved an email congratulating me on successfully changing my accounts email address - which I haven't. I go to their help section where it tells me to log in, which I can't as the email address has been changed.
I looked up the Say No to 0870 number for custmor services, which I get through on but then hung up on.

Any ideas?

Send them an e-mail if you can't get through. I have no idea how long it takes for them to get back to you though...

Or pound them on Twitter until they answer you.

When you got the original email telling you that you had changed your details did you click on any links within that email?

Links in email- No, I'd already tried logging in before checking my emails.

Facebook page - they have one, but no way of contact via it, unless I spam their pages and links.

Contact email - trying it as we speak, probably gonna be a while.

Looking on the forum it seems this is quite a normal thing to happen. Sodding EA.......

Their chat is awful, its a horrible experience, I had a problem with EURO 12 DLC, took about 3 weeks to get sorted.

Have you had any luck with this fella?.

As it just so happens that tonight i got an email telling me my addy had been successfully changed, & if it wasn't me who requested the change to contact support.

So i quickly tried to log into Origin & sure enough i'm locked out, tried the Origin forums which are a waste of time, & before any one asks, no i didn't click on any links in said email.

I can't work out how so many peoples accounts get hacked apart from WoW 10 years ago i never have had a problem touch wood :/

You know in 12 years of being online & gaming etc, this is the first time ive been hacked, it's one cherry ide rather not lost.

Yeap the online chat sorted the issues I have had in the past, was quick and painless.

Just to ask what sort of password did u have just a word ? a mix of numbers ? name ?

There's the problem, when i set up my Origin i used an easy pw because i wasn't sure if Origin was just a passing EA gimmick that would fail in the face of Steam, and i completely forgot to harden the pw so it's totaly self inflicted.

Wish i could say the same, my timing must be off as i can't even get any one on chat, & the UK phone support is closed till 9pm tomorrow morning.
