Ea origin and Windows 8 reinstall

Hi all
I have about 80gb of games on a 2tb and will be changing my os drive, can I keep the games without having to download/install again
What's the best way to do this?

I have tried a few ways with Origin and always failed. Unlike Steam where you can just copy the folder Origin does no allow this for some reason. It just see's the games as needing downloading even though the files are there.

Would also be interested if anyone has a solution.

yes its pretty simple to do

there is a guide here but battlelog is down at moment

Hi MOOGLEYS that was the same problem I had having to re-download when my files are already there

Will give it a try although I'm not changing the origin drive just the os drive

This only works for moving the game folders that are installed. On a fresh install of windows it does not work as Origin will not see the games as installed. Even if you re-install Origin to the same folder it does not pick up the game installs ?

yeah its easy just start downloading then stop quit Origin copy complete game from backup restart Origin job done

i did this with BF3 on a fresh install of Win 7 works a treat saved me a 10gb dl ;(

hi MOOGLEYS managed to get it to work after an os reinstall on C drive (all origin stuff on F) I reinstalled origin on F and clicked on download and all games went through usual install then jump to 100% So all happy WOOP
