Ea origin download crawls to a halt

Been preloading bf4 this evening. When started its coming down at 500kbps ono, but in the space of a few minutes it drops down to single figures. If i pause the download then resume it will again start at 500 ono and drop again. Had this when downloading the bf4 beta, took about 3 hours to get it. Any ideas guys?
 
It's getting hammered pure and simple.

Be thankful that people preloaded early otherwise it'd be even worse lol.

It should ease tomorrow though as more people are loaded up hopefully.
 
unlucky for me then, i pre-orderd a retail copy, so unless it turns up tomorrow im downloading on release day! lol
 
Just do overnight downloads. It's what I do most times. In fact I do all my large downloads overnight.
 
I had exactly the same problem, origin crashing down to single digit Kb/s within moments. I tried various solutions but in the end found out something about me possibly not having an eacore.ini file. Googled it, downloaded one, dropped it on my desktop which origin automatically detected on relaunch and then I had solid download consistent speeds better than I normally get on steam.

I can't remember the site for the life of me but you should be able to find one if the problem persists. I think I may still have the file knocking about in my download folder somewhere.
