Anyone had any issues with Origin EA store or heard any bad reviews of origin. Quite a few things im interested in but it seems to have a bad rep, is this the case or am i making it up.

I have had a few bad experiences with them, but overall, if you want to buy digitally then there isn't always an option as even if you buy from elsewhere it needs to go through origin to install and play.

I see what you're saying, but things are slightly less expensive on origin than steam so then its worth it.

the only issues I have had, and its been a few, are about games activating properly or ea actually taking my money. a couple of times I couldn't pay through their site so had to buy elsewhere as their support is shocking. the other thing is some games can only be installed 5 times, so if you do it more than that (I did a few fresh windows installs, but not 5) it wont activate, and again, their support is shocking. but there is always a way to fix it.

Other than not recieving time card codes from them for 4+ hours every time yet buying a game gets you the code in yer email in minutes i've not had any issues with them.

All I'd say is if the game(s) you want are on Steam, then get them on Steam. Only use Origin for games that require you to use it, eg, Battlefield 3, Crysis 2 and Mass Effect 3 amongst some others.

Sounds like this is the best way, only being able to install 5 times is a joke. I can imagine Steam will eventually go down this route also. Shame games are no longer actually 'yours', being tied down to steam or origin is BS.

I've only got one game on Origin but it's been a flawless experience so far - I do not even need to launch Origin to play it (like I have to launch steam to play its games), just click the game and play. Full marks for Origin from me.

Had a couple of issues with Origin and BF3, it wouldn't detect my disc and kept trying to download all of the files even though I was launching Origin from the discs installer - the fix I found in the end was I had to have Origin running, but not logged in, only then did it detect and install from the disc. A few weeks before Karkand was released every time I tried to enter a server it would say an update for the game is needed and jump back to Origin and do a 5 sec update before saying it's ready again - ended up having to just re-install BF3 & Origin to fix it.

I'm sure not everyone has these kind of issues though, and the Origin servers seem very fast for downloading games/updates (I find it a bit faster than steam), and the program itself is fairly stable/fast.

If certain games didn't require it I wouldn't bother using Origin - it's just another thing you have to launch/log into - but it's al'right.

If i remember right BF3 was pretty much their first launched game on Origin fella, problems back then were to be expected i guess. If it's something that still happens that's a different story.

Ive got a few games on it, bfbc2, moh and bf3. The first two run flawlessly through it, however bf3 is a bit hit and miss with it.

Only if one is silly enough to buy a game with 3rd party DRM from a publisher like Ubisoft. ;)

Works ok here. Nothing amazing, it just works.
Just bought Shift 2 Unleashed for 7.49eu (50eu on Steam).
It doesn't have the wide range of games as Steam (to be expected) but it's fine.
