Seriously, What kind of junk is Need for Speed Pro Street? It's annoyed me no end but I've nearly finished it, the speed cahllenges are mostly retarded due to the moronic AI and jittery handling, the Grip races offer no challenge or variety, the drag races are very boring and drifting is stupidly easy because you can do a variety of things to artificially increase your score.

I'm seriously considering cancelling my Burnout Paradise pre-order.

It's on rental.

I played the demo and it seemed ok, but the full game is just too much, not enough variety makes it boring very quick and frustrating.

I know pure numbers can mean very little, but I do think it's a complete myth that EA's output is considerably less than the average in terms of quality.

...stuff...
I know pure numbers can mean very little, but I do think it's a complete myth that EA's output is considerably less than the average in terms of quality.

It is not a myth at all. Most EA titles have or have had issues that other games simply don't. These range from poor game or gameplay design to bugs. Their custom support is shocking, they really don't give a crap. People don't hate them for no reason.

If I was a tester for them, I'd just make stuff up so they could never release anything anymore, the world would be a better place for it.

Most? I don't think so.

Plenty of developers suffer the same problems EA do, although you could say for the size of EA those problems are less acceptable from them.

There are very few developers that you wouldn't be able to find **** poor releases from them.

This year just past I've had some cracking EA titles and I think the view of them churning out nothing but **** is a little out of date if I'm honest.
It is. It's just a myth that people buy into because it's said so much. Of course EA have released some shocking games, I'm simply saying the idea that only EA do this is ridiculous.

Their average review score for their games is very much in line with what some of the other main company's are receiving.

lol, EA is one of the reasons I stay out of the PC section. There are a lot of uninformed people who just blame everything on EA which is ludicrous when they are only the publisher.

Yes they have a lot of power, but the poor standard of any game is always down to the team working at the developer.

I don't think Criterion would be too happy.
If you weren't aware, Criterion are the ones who made Burnout Paradise, not EA.

Criterion are an EA owned studio, and in fact I don't think are even called criterion anymore. Actually I think what was Criterion is now EA's UK development headquarters.

The reason people think EA sucks is because they have more crap games than most companies because they are bigger than most companies. Plus EA are more blatent with their branding. Games from big companies like Ubisoft or Activision tend not to be so obviously branded, so people don't notice they make just as many crap games as EA do.
