EAH3870X2 strange memory

Hi

I have just put in an ASUS EAH3870X2/G/HTDI 1GB card and it it showing up as only 512mb...
Any ideas why this would be
Am i missing something really obvious or have they sent the wrong card?

Naa thats right gpu-z willl only show 512mb all x2's have 1gb.

It's the way the card works... 3870X2's have 2 gpu's which each use a 512mb chunk of memory. This means that the card physically possesses 1gb of ram but doesn't actually have 1gb video memory for gaming due to it being shared.

I am so out of touch with all this stuff now its unreal....

My last PC consisted of a AMD 2GHz and IDE cables everywhere....(and a lot of dust lol)
