EAH5850 and 2nd monitor?

Hey guys,

I have a problem with my ASUS EAH5850, I cannot for the life of me get it to detect a 2nd monitor (or any monitor infact) via the hdmi port on the card via the hdmi-dvi converter. As i do not have a native hdmi appliace to check the port is there any suggestions you guys can give to help me?

I have the latest drivers, and have tried everything i can think of. Please help.

Doesn't the card have two DVI sockets anyway? why are you converting an HDMI when you can go straight from DVI?

the card has 1 dvi, 1 displayport and one hdmi

Odd as all 5850's have 2 dvi, 1 displayport and one hdmi

Driving me mad, i have tried changing inputs on the monitor, updating everything i possibly can... begining to think the port maybe knackered.

Have you tried unplugging the dvi input, and just using the hdmi to dvi input into your monitor to see if that works?

Yeah i have tried that, both of my monitors work fine on the dvi output, but i can't get a peep from the hdmi socket. with or without the dvi cable active.

problem solved appears to be the hdmi > dvi converter.
