EAH5850 verclock

Hi...
I brought a Asus EAH 5850 and im looking into overclockng it.. it comes with a smartdoctor tool so il use that..
I have 2 questions:
1. whats the best tool to check for stablity and artifects etc for Vista 64 and this card.
2. Does anybody know its safe overclock limits ?

Ive seen on a website someones clocked theres to .. 1028/4600/1.3v
I take it thats its max clock?

No two cards are the same, factore in the rest of your system and its temps and there is no way to say for sure what you will get out of the card until your test it yourself....
MSI Afterburner is the simplest and easiest way to OC the card and comes with a variation of Furmark which you can use to test for artifacts/temps and stabilty

All cardss are different.

Up clock by 10 - 15 mhz and run furmark for 30 seconds, no atrifacts? keep going.

When you see artifacts back down by 20 mhz.

Job done.


Oh, watch temps too.

No limit, just how far your card can clock, of course keep an eye on temps.

Yes that's their max clock, that's not say you can't clock higher or not clock as good.
