I've read online that the Early 2011 Macbooks take only 1333 Mhz RAM. Does that mean that I can't upgrade it using a 1600 Mhz kit?

I've just tried to upgrade my boss's late 2010 and it was incredibly fussy about RAM. I tried 1600mhz modules and it would crash out during the installer every time.

Popped the 1333mhz stuff back in, works fine. There's reports of people popping the original RAM back in as needed but it seems like a total faff.

Are you looking for a 16gb kit perchance? If so, slim pickings at 1333mhz I'm afraid. Going to pop 8gb in his, will be more than ample.

Yeah I actually already installed an 8GB kit a couple days ago. But after looking on Amazon again today I found a 16GB 1600mhz kit for only 10 quid more.

Comments on item page varied amongst users. I really don't want to pay 20-30 quid more for the 1333m hz kit when my Mrs. probably doesn't need that extra 8GB of ram at the moment.

Going from 4 to 8GB already showed a massive improvement. Just now waiting for my Torx screwdriver to come in the post so I can swap out the old harddrive for an SSD.
