The first game really was a masterpiece, one of the best of the genre, for me it had an immersion factor which happened twice. Once when I played the game normally and a second wow factor when I played it in VR, VR subnautica was brilliant..the sense of depth in VR was amazing. Playing it in VR , being 100m below the surface REALLY felt like you were 100m below the surface when you looked up or downOn a serious note - once you've played the original game I think it is very hard for any subsequent game to recapture that experience or provide as immersive new experience of that type.

Depends on the VR set you use, I think the Rift still needs M&K for example but on my quest 2 I can use the quest's controllers fineGot my hopes up
Have they improved the VR at all? I do remember the controls being not great i.e. you had to use M&KB still

EDIT : also...on a serious note...Subnautica 3 has been confirmed as being in development and will include native multiplayer support apparently

Have you tries Alien Isolation? only game that as was too scary for me in VR.Best played with a xbox/joypad still. There's an essential mod that tidy's up the UI and inventory, making it less in your face. Below Zero was converted to VR, apparently the mod team did a better job of it.
Game freaks me out anyway, i can no longer play the game beyond swimming in the shallows. Soon as i unexpectedly met the reaper in VR, everything nasty looking or dark and deep, genuinely has me scared ********.
It's the only game in VR that has had that effect.
The joke would have been lost in GD and as its a gaming joke sticking it in the PC Games section made more sense, equally I didnt want to put it in a Subnautica thread as it was a joke not something about Subnautica itselfProbably should have been posted in GD or an actual subnautica thread

After playing Alien Isolation in VR, I am now terrified every time I bump into a xenomorph in real life.
Grounded is giving me similar vibes and at some aspects it's superior. On a serious note - once you've played the original game I think it is very hard for any subsequent game to recapture that experience or provide as immersive new experience of that type.
