My MOT is due at the end of September however I understand that you can take it along up to a month early, is this correct?

As I've got Tesco finest warranty which covers quite a bit of MOT work, and seeing as Porsche are notorious for failing cars on brakes I'm kinda hoping they go to town on my car and fail it on lots of things that Tesco can kindly pay for.

So, if they do fail it a month before my MOT is due, does this mean that I can't drive it until the issues are rectified or does the fact that I have another month left on my MOT still mean I can drive until that runs out?

Cool. That makes things easier, I've just got a really busy schedule over the next few weeks and the only time I can fit my MOT in would be this week but I didn't want to end up without the use of my car if it failed.

Make sure you take your old MOT with you if you want it to run until 12 months after the expiry date rather than 12 months after the test date.

I was told by my MOT guy that this is no longer necessary as the previous MOT should show up on the computer when they enter the registration details.

Indeed, although i took my last one with me it wasn't required in the end and the expiration date of the new cert came out correctly.

You shouldn't need to do this, I never have and get extended expiry dates on the new computerised MOT system.
