It's not really a medical thread but im wondering does anyone get earache when wearing headphones?

I dont get it when using my Sennheisers but when i use my Creative Fatal1ty headset it hurts my ears, taking them off for a few seconds usually sorts it but i shouldnt really have to put up with it.

read this Article here and apparently its something called Acoustic shock.

Would i be able to get a refund on my headset? because its becoming a pain to wear them even though they are quite comfortable.

Cheers

I get that with my crappy stock ipod headphones. Never got it with my fatal1ty, still, getting a HD555 within 2 weeks so that may be a thing of the past :D

use the sennheisers for audio and just plug in the mic jack from the headset and then wear it round your neck with the mic pointing up towards your mouth, you look like an idiot but it works :p

I've never had ear ache such as pain inside the ear, but i have had headphones in the past that clamp(lol) to your head too tight, and after 30 mins or so, my ears become tender and sore. Im using some pretty cheap £10 sony MDR-XD200 headphones. They are really comfy that sit around your ears instead of on them. They're so comfy, i forget i've got them on sometimes.

Yeah I used to wear earphones all day long in the studio and then at home playing games. Suprised I can still hear, it did start to take its toll after a few hour becoming quite uncomfortable, those were Sennheisers also that covered the whole ear.

I used to get this a lot a couple of years ago when I played a lot of games, it's weird how something touching you so gently can cause so much pain :o

I used to do that but found it moves around too much, people were complaining they couldn't hear you one minutes, and that you were too loud the next. Been using an xbox wireless jobbie recently but the recording quality is rubbish.

i only get pain from my head phones because i wear glasses and it puts a bit of pressure round my head, i normally take them off for a few minuites and it sorts it out...

Well my ears are tiny so they tend to cover my ears, i have moved them forward so the rest sort of on my ears, so they are still comfortable but dont hurt anymore.

I used to get it playing COD4 with the Jabra Warhawk headset, had a really sore ear :D, however i was playing for hours at a time so just have a break often
