Ease of pre-ordering a PS3.

I doubt an invidual store can guarantee 100 ps3's on launch day, unles its like here in Reading with three of those famous console shops! They'll have 100 between them

I got it preordered from Competitor hinting and have a store in basically every precinct, I wont be happy being £50 down and being placed in a queue, would it be worth asking them nearer time?

100 orders previous to me makes me a bit sceptical...but dont these guys get the majority of consoles?

If the stores are linked all around manchester then you should have no problem, but yes, store employees do lie to get more preorders..... we get insentives! :D

Im surprised pre-orders haven't sold out yet, only 23 days left as well!

When was you last in the Rochdale Exchange shopping centre?

When were they did you last see preorder signs plastered over the windows..?

Yes, a certain games store in Oldham has A4 sized posters all over the windows.

I've just noticed another large store has changed their website to say that they can't deliver any new PS3 pre-orders on 23rd March, it now says 'within 14 days after 23rd March'. Luckily i pre-ordered from them weeks ago :)

I got an e-mail from a well known online retailer confirming i'll have a ps3 on launch day, but i don't really want it now, it doesn't reprasent value for money to me, not sure if i sould stick it on ebay or just cancel my pre-order

I tried adding you to msn :(

Im buying one to use myself - and if both stores get them where I have pre-ordered I will let that oen go - I dont agree with people making a bad situation (scarce product at a high price) even worse by buying something they dont even want

In hindsight no I don't think I am buying one to play on, haven't seen many games that are available at launch which are good and not on 360.

The whole of Europe is only getting a shared One Million Consoles on launch day. Not sure how many out of this million is allocated to the UK. But rpe-orders for the PS3 has live for 2 weeks from the main online retailers and they are still saying they have stock of their allocation to go around. Kinda shows that there isn't much interest for the PS3 as normally guarentee pre-orders are normally snapped up in a couple of hours.
I thought a million consoles to Europe was a huge amount compaired to previous launches?

I have two coming and i'm starting to feel the same way. I only ordered them to make cash and with the number of retailers saying they have enough to go around i'm thinking it's not going to be worth the hassle.

When they are around £300 including a game, i may buy one to keep.
