So aside from the $$$$ taking a dump on the £££££ this has been booked for a while apart from transfers from Newark to the hotel in times square.

Any ideas ?

Me and the Mrs are going for a long weekend at Xmas and wanting to get finalised, they are asking for £115 for a shuttle which seems a right royal rip off to me (but easier)

(think i have just answered my own question air train, but you never know a secret OCUK)

On a side note saturday is already ruined as she has booked a bloody show instead of a hockey game.... just WTF..

That price sounds about right to be fair, ive done it a couple of times. The shuttles usually take you to a stop point rather than direct to your hotel, so if you have a few cases it can be a bit of a pain.

The last time I went was christmas 2018 and I booked a private car from Newark which wasn't much more than the shuttle, this also included tip and you are dropped off directly at your hotel.

The cheap option would be to use public transport, but im guessing that would be a ball ache and Id personally avoid it after a 7hr flight.

Just to add, Its been recommended that you avoid the likes of Uber as the price still increases if you hit traffic. Always get a fixed price.

Yes train will be cheapest and fastest especially if you are in commuter hours.

Also Downtown is lower Manhattan, Midtown is Times Square
