Easiest way to program c++?

Afternoon all,

Last term i've started writing programs in c++ both in Microsoft Visual C++ on my windows laptop, and in emacs and compiling with g++ on a linux machine. However i;ve just switched to a mac and was wondering which is the best way to do the same thing?
