Easiest way to transfer OS from one PC build to another Win10

Whats the easiest way to transfer over to a new PC build?

I imagine swapping the SSD drive wont work as the hardware is different?

Should work just fine. Windows isn’t fussy like it used to be in different hardware. I’d just advise removing graphics any drivers and software first if changing between AMD and nvidia.

If your windows license is oem rather than retail ensure you sign in with your Microsoft account on the old hardware before upgrading.

Once you have installed the new hardware, Windows will show as not being activated but if you follow the prompts and confirm you have installed new hardware then windows will reactivate with no trouble.

I completed the above only last week following a motherboard, cpu and memory upgrade. (i even went AMD to intel and my windows installation switched over seemlessly)

my licence is pro retail on both computers. Will give it a try tomorrow.

I've swapped SSDs between vastly different systems on many occasions and they've booted up just fine. They've just installed drivers automatically or used basic ones.

After that it's easy to fine tune.

(This is Windows 7 and onwards)
