Hi All,

We are looking at moving and we have found a house that we both really like but the garden is east facing which is slightly putting us off. its a bungalow if that makes any difference.

does anyone have any experience of east facing gardens and know of problems? we both enjoying being out in the garden in summer bbq's and the like.

we also are gonna be looking at building up a veg patch.

should we go for it or should we avoid east facing

Our garden is east facing but quite long (I'd guess at 30 to 40 metres), so whilst the patio eventually loses the sun, you can move up the garden for some rays through to around 8pm in the summer. Our garage is set back from the house, so there's a decent gap for the evening sun to get through.

We have two raised beds (plus tubs/growbags) and a greenhouse - another bumper year for produce.

My garden is East facing, and it's fine. It's reasonably big, though (about 50m long), and the patio area starts about 10m from the house.
