Wearing a pair of these now, they are my headset of choice for gaming. You can really pinpoint enemies with the true 5.1 (4 jacks). Music quality is also really awesome, even more so with a high-end sound card :)

The microphone isn't that great IMO, or at least that's what other people on team-speak say. It sounds all right on my end though.
Really nice headset though, they sound great, just make sure to get a decent sound card, or the feedback will drive you insane. :D

lol, do you guys @ OcUK all line up to comment? ;-)

Look like a very nice pair of headphones :-) How would you compare them to 5.1's of the past? A much better experience and actually worth getting?

Would you have to ensure to turn off any 3D features (I.e. the positional feature on X-fi's) to make these work as intended?

Nope, we are all hardware enthusiasts, so we keep track on each others deals :)

When it's a product we are all familiar with that everybody has tried for themselves, then there is good reason to comment.

The headset is a bit heavy yes, it's about the same as a Logitech g35, well it feels similar when it's on.

I wouldn't suggest it to people who like really light weight headsets like the Siberia v2 or the pc350.

I personally love them but honestly find them a little heavy after an hour or so.
Horses for courses I guess but I would prefer to be honest about the product.

They are a little heavier than the fatality set you linked but I personally think they are loads more comfortable.
The sound quality is a massive improvement.

Odd question but how firm are the ear cups?, and how much pressure do they put on your head?, really like the look of them

The ear cups are just right for firmness imo,but as others have said they are heavy. The pads on the underside of the arch help greatly to make them comfortable but some times after a couple of hours of use i have to move them around my head for a minute.
The weight is a trade off really as they are so well made and feel so sturdy.I know a friend who`s had a set since they come out and they still going strong.
Sound is really punchy with my x-fi.

Good to know, not really bothered by wieght cause the headset I use for music isn't exacly light :p

If only the plantronics had the inline controller like that and didnt have just the single USB I would be snapping it up ASAP.

Still unsure on which to get, I need a headset that the majority of the time will be used for Music, some PC games, and then more so than often on the Xbox.

=/

plantronics is all on the earcup which is pretty cool.

i dont personally like in line controllers. they always seem a little badly made, like an afterthought on most headsets, even on some of the higher end sennheisers i have used.

the roccat one is pretty beasty though. definitely better built
