https://x.com/lookatmymeat1/status/1769559765561033014?s=61&t=VCe3B4L_lImms-u99NPCcQ Lists every game, from their own website. This now means no player in any of those games is safe from being given hacks and potentially getting banned.

This comes after a Hacker known as Destroyer2009 injected a wall hack into a Pro players game live during the Apex Legends Global Series and then also granted aimbot to another player, ImperialHal, a multiple ALGS champion who’s account was subsequently banned for cheating. EA have since postponed the rest of the ALGS due to competitive integrity concerns.

If your game uses EAC then your account is at risk. It's a BIG list, EAC is probably the most widely used anti-cheat client out there.

Figured this could use its own thread.

I think Vince is on the money. Most likely a compromised system on some top streamers and the exploit allows code to be run remotely. Otherwise they should have given every player aimbot and no walls and let chaos take place.

Yep, I read it was Remote Code Execution via a vulnerability in EAC which has kernel level hooks into the OS.

Bring back dedicated servers, active admins and slapping people with a wet fish.

Isn't that actually more likely? His own system was hacked and they activated something on his end?

There have been instances in the past where people have found they can trigger anti-cheat on someone's system by putting certain character strings into things like IRC and Discord, Steam Chat, etc. most modern anti-cheat has systems in place to avoid being falsely triggered by that but possible someone has found a new one.

It may also be possible in isolated cases, though need a massive amount of knowledge and effort, to hijack anti-cheat software which phones home for updates, etc. if someone can insert themselves as a middleman on someone's connection i.e. a compromised VPN, etc.

If the anti cheat was compromised and this person / team had access to just remote code to anyone using the software. They would have to be seriously ******** to expose themselves trolling 1 / 2 people in a crappy tournament. They would have had access to 100s of thousands of systems ripe for the taking with keyloggers installed to gain access to finances.
