easy fan and heatsink question!

hi everone - just bought a new 60mm delta fan for my heatsink - (noise is not an issue for me!) - when attaching the fan i assume it needs to draw the heat away from the cpu (as opposed to blowing air towards the cpu) - please confirm/deny this for me

It should draw air onto the heatsink. You'd really only want to draw air away if you have cool air blowing in already onto the CPU.

Most coolers blow air down into the heatsink. That drives all the hot air out the sides and it can be drawn away by either the PSU fan or the rear mounted exhaust fan if you have one.
