Hi guys,

Just using an old Nokia 1208 whilst I wait for my iPhone to be unlocked and I can't for the life of my work out how it is hard reset? The instructions found Googling are:

You can format your Nokia 1208 device by typing: * + 3 + call + Power on. Before the device is reset, you need to provide the lock code. The default lock code is 12345.

But how do I actually put that into the phone

Do I dial it? Its probably really easy but I can't do it...

That's the old school reset code for Nokia's, good to see it still works. Hold down * + 3 (and continue to hold) then hold down power as well and keep them all pushed down and the phone will start to boot - when you see the lock screen you can release them, type in 12345 (it will be a prompt) and the phone will fully reboot.
You may need to release the 3 button salute earlier than the screen popup, i admit it's been a while since I've done it, but I don't think it harms to keep holding it down. You'll know if you've done it right because it won't boot like normal. It used to (really back in the day here) boot to a white screen when formatting which was the sign it worked by this is N95 era stuff.

On the home screen type *#7370#. Then it will ask for the passcode which is 12345. This should wipe the phone completely, making it like new.

This works on all the non WP Nokia's I have tried, but that might be going back a bit too far.
