I don't think there is any program that will give a decent overclock reliably. About the closest thing is probably ntune if your board fully supports it, which few do.
Imo it really is easier to let us take you through it. You don't have to understand how it works as long as you can follow instructions and find the right settings in the bios.

...it is however much easier when you DO have some knowledge of how overclocking works - just the basics really. It will take a little reading and a lot of experimenting but you will soon get the grasp of it and your results will be so much better. You will also get a lot more satisfaction out of it too. There are guides all over the web ranging from the basic to the more advanced so I suggest you read through a few of them, gain some understanding and give it a go. Many here can help you if you get stuck but the best way of learning is not by being spoon fed info rather by knowledge and understanding as if things go wrong you will have the means to put things right - nothing worse than exitting a bios and then not being able to get back online for your next 'lesson' imo.
