easy outs

You dont want the first link you posted. They will just drill a hole in your bolt the wrong way. Its hitty missy if it gets it out.

The second ones, you drill a hole into the bolt, then you unscrew the bolt. The flutes go the opposite way, so as you unscrew the bolt, these bite further into the hole you drilled. They do work a treat, but if its way too stuck, it might not work.

cool mate, ill give it a whirl. the pas pump has been held on with 1 bolt for a while now anway

any particular brands to go for that are known to be good?

Easyouts are cunningly designed to snap off in the hole you have drilled, making subsequent removal of the bolt almost impossible. This applies most especially to small ones, which you will need for an M8.

Did the bolt shear from being over-tightened, or is it corroded in place and it sheared when undoing it? If the former you stand a chance, if the later then I wouldn't consider using an easyout. Accurately center punch it, and then drill it out starting with a ~3mm pilot and going up in small steps. If you do it accurately you'll be left with very little remains of the bolt that can be picked out with a scriber etc. If you **** it up, you may have drill it oversize and helicoil it.

Not tried those drill extractors, but they seem like a better idea than easyouts.
