Easy PowerPoint question - making columns?

Hi,

Is it possible to make columns rather than trying to align up boxes perfectly using the cursor keys? If that makes sense.

Trying to get 4 columns spread evenly over a slide.

PP 2007 by the way.

Edit: I don't actually want columns as such but 4 boxes displayed...just found the column button, could be useful for something else but not this.

I think what you want is hidden in the format tab. When you have the objects all selected simply go to 'align' in the format tab and select the alignment options you want.

Of course it's never quite that simple though because it only seems to align them horizontally between the extreme left and extreme right objects than with the page itself which is a bit of a nuisance and hence maybe not exactly what you want, still though a bit of fiddling will probably yield adequate results.

Can you use a *gasp* table? Make it 7 columns, then use a full border for the 4 alternate columns leaving a blank column in between.
