Where do I find the UPC code?

I wrote down what I thought would be the UPC code (big number on the sticker on the rear middle of the card), but when I look at the box this is the same as the Serial Number...

So which of the other several strings of numbers plastered all over *** card is the UPC number?

Anyone who's registered a BFG 8800GTS 512 i'd love to hear from you!!!

Hi,i had the same problem as you......the cards serial number should start BFG S/N ********** 10 digits long (Should be on the back of the card & should be different to the serial number on the box) & the UPC code should start 8*********** 12 digits long (This will be a directly underneath the bar code sticker on the card or on the rear of the box).Once you have managed to registered the card go back into your BFG account click "My profile" then click "My products" then it should say POP required click this and you will need to also email them a copy of your proof of purchase (Your invoice from where you bought the card).

Hope this helps as they seem to have made it a right pain to register your card these days.

Looks like i'm going to have to take the card out again as non of the numbers i've written down seem to work =/

Also the only number I can see that starts BFG is the Part number on the box which i'd assume will be the same for all 8800GTS OC's =/

How annoying...

They really know how to make a simple task difficult, how hard would it be just to bung a sticker on the back clearly labled:

UPC: XXXXXXXXXXXXX
S/N: XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Would save all this hassle

I had to email them 4 times as when i put my cards serial number in it said "This serial number is already in use" even though the box was sealed and had never been opened before.

Me too, and they slap all the stickers on the bottom of the GX2

Yep GX2 here aswell is it's a right pain in the

Just remember the UPC code is on the bar code sticker & the serial number is on a separate sticker & starts BFG S/N (Serial number is on the card & the UPC number is on the box & card.)

Cheers, i will take it out later and get it sorted,

Atleast this thread might help a few other BFG owners out that have not installed the card yet

Hi m8, thanks for all this info, but my card has nothing like that on it :(

I've just taken the card out again, and written down every single code there is, not one of them starts BFG...

My card contains the following codes (x's = digits/letters removed for obvious reasons):

Large sticker vertical near GPU core: 006xxxxxxx912 (same as S/N on Box)

Bios Version: 62.92.25.00.07 (obviously bios on the card)

Code on the front of the card, very back edge under the cooler directly below 6pin connector:

82Jxxxxxx000 102xxxxxYZE

Code small sticker rear of card horizontal above GPU core: 600-1xxxx-0000-xxx E

Code rear of card, very back edge: 900-1xxxx-0000-xxx H

Code on sticker on bottom of the cooler: DCV-003xx-xx-xP

And that is it....

So answers on a post card which two codes i'm meant to use!

I've tried using the first 12 digits of the 82JSxxxxxxxx code as the UPC and the 00608xxxxx912 as the S/N to no avail....

It recocnises the S/N but not the UPC, and there are no 12 digit numbers begining with 8 other than that one =/

I'm stumpped...

Is there a barcode to the rear of the card? on the side that faces the motherboard?

No m8, what i've listed there is every single code from the entire card, i've spun it round on my desk for the past 15 mins making sure I hadn't missed one as I really don't want to have to take it out a 3rd time.

There are no other codes other than those listed there =/

Hi Hex,

This is a BFG 9800GX2 and the codes are in the same place on my card, see if this helps you at all.

UPC number will also be on the rear of the box.

Figured it out!

It isn't on the card at all... its on the flipping box it came in :|

However worryingly, on the box where the code is it says:

Cashier: Please open box and verify contents, making sure the UPC barcode matches the one seen here.

My card has no such sticker/barcode on it...

Now mine has the UPC barcode & number on the box aswell as on the card.

Don't forget to take a picture of your invoice and email it to them with your,

Username.

Name & address.

UPC code.

Serial number.

I wouldn't worry about it as it says on the BFG site "May be on box"
