Hi all

Just wondering, can I run 4x2GB DDR3 RAM comfortably with an AMD setup? It's been awhile since I've looked into things and I remember that it was always best to just use x2 DIMMS for Memory; never all x4.

I want to run 8GB RAM in a new PC I'm building so just want to check really. Mobo I plan to use, Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5.

Thanks for the clarification. :)

Sure you can, make sure you have an AM3 CPU which supports DDR3 (afaik all of 'em). Also make sure that the ram speeds are supported by your motherboard.

i.e. If the maximum ram supported on your motherboard is 1600mhz, preferably don't buy more than that, it could result in compatibility issues and so. Also make sure you buy ram which are optimized for AMD, you will get slightly better performance and also maximum compatibility. Hope this helps :)

Thanks great, cheers for the reply. :)
