So I've used TeamViewer to fulfil the odd support task with my parents for what must be forever. Every once in a while it comes in useful, but it's never warranted spending out on the full edition.

Recently I've found its gone south and they've gotten increasingly aggressive and pushy with the paid version so I'm looking for a proven alternative.

The one requirement is its either incredibly easy to walk someone through the install/running and it can be accessed unattended. Anything with an initial install that's a breeze would be amazing too, security is important too.

I've looked at a handful but have gone around in a bit of a circle as they all now seem to be cashing in.

I've not noticed they've become more pushy towards the paid version. There's the pop up when the session closes with a quick advert to the paid version, but that's been like it for donkeys years.

I guess I've just become immune to automatically closing it.

It's when using it on domain machines and accounts that have had a paid account before, presume its down to some form of detection they may have been using when I last tried it.

Not only that is disconnects your session for 5 mins. Can't be dealing with that. Not sure who uses team viewer any more.

That was driving me nuts too!

I ended up settling on Zoho Assist in the end, cheap as chips and works a treat
