Easy software for video manipulation?

I got some wedding footage I need modify. I am connecting my camera over firewire and its got one of those little tape things (rather than mini DVDR).

All I want is something very simple that can chop up and add a sound track. Thanks

windows movie maker, free and included with xp and vista

i thought that only works with wmv?

movie maker will be fine, just plug in the camera, fire up movie maker and capture the footage, then edit away!
