Easy to unlock BB's to use on other networks?!

Just won a blackberry 9000 on eBay, happy chappy, is it worth paying for unlock codes and is it easy to do or?

Will ANY shop do an unlock (average price if so?) I have a local o2 shop and tmobile shop, i guess i should pop into the o2, since it's o2 locked apparantly.

Yeh most high st shops ie mobile places will do unlocking...i just did my Storm2 last week for about £20...you can also buy unlock codes from the internet but having used a couple i would stay away ie none of the unlock codes worked so in the end i had to take it to a mobilephone shop who did it via a cable and some software.

But shouldnt pay more than £20....oh and congrats on your win...the 9000 BOLD is a pretty awesome device...still have mine although sat in its box but i have no intentions of selling it just yet.

Also, how long does it take for say my company, Orange to add a bundle on, e.g BIS to the contract, is it instant or a few days? If a few days i should do it now then before i get the phone.

Shouldnt take more than 24 hrs...usually its instant. They wont add it until you have the device PIN number so best just waiting till you have the actual device in your hand.

Oh ok good point, hmm maybe i shoulda bought an already unlocked phone and "saved" the £20 on unlocking, meh oh well. Hopefully he sends it asap, as i'm having to use a crappy old sony Ericsson! Stupid new Paypal holding onto funds for 24 hours

Can't wait to try the BB, although girlfriend won't be happy, since yes, she's petty and didn't want me copying her even though she has a 8900 lols
