So my girlfriend's at uni and has again ran out of space on her 128GB MBA. She's managed to free up 9GB or so by moving photos across to an external HDD and deleting some old downloads etc., but I'd like for her to use something that will tell her in relative detail how her disk space is being used, ideally by content and location.

About My Mac is too vague and GrandPerspective is too verbose, something in between would be nice, and not too overwhelming or complicated.

Any ideas folks?

I'd just used this myself today... Disk Inventory X

http://www.derlien.com/

Gives you a nice block graph showing what files/folders are using what space and the option to delete the file with the program or show in finder.

If shes not done so already, she can remove a lot of the stock files from the OS and programs.

Try monolingual
http://sourceforge.net/projects/monolingual/?source=pdlp

this will remove all languages and architectures that she may never use freeing up hdd space. Its worth running it every so often as updates and programs will keep install all known languages packages for themselves.
