Easy way to do a disk image of a Vista partition?

Hi all, looking for a quick bit of help. I've got my step-dad's Dell XPS One at the moment with a perfectly set-up (by me!) install of Vista HP. He wants me to put Windows 7 on there, but because of the nature of the system (lots of proprietary components and things) and a lack of 7 drivers from Dell, I'm concerned that some of the system-specific drivers and apps for Vista might not work with 7 resulting in a loss of functionality. If that becomes the case, I'd like to be able to put Vista back on there exactly as-is, because I simply don't have the time to set it up manually again.

Is there a decent, simple app that can do this? I don't really want the entire hard-drive backed up, just the C: partition; the other partition can stay put (providing it's safe to do that, of course). I've got a Passport HDD I can use to copy the image to so that shouldn't be a problem, I just need an app that I can trust to do this as simply and efficiently as possible.

Any suggestions? Thanks all.

Clonezilla is an easy way to do this and it is freeware and will dump to USB Drive / Other SATA or PATA drive / ftp host / smb host etc etc.
I have used it backup and image encrypted drives when moving from 1 drive to another and it works very well
