My mother is wanting to play various video file formats through her t.v and I was wondering if someone could recommend a cheap media player of some sort that she could use?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks :)

Have just found a Cyclone Micro 2+ MKV Player for about £27. Has anyone had any experiences with one of these?

How will the files be stored? USB stick/external HDD? network?

One thing I would personally look for is good community support, so that firmwares are available which improve menus, compatability etc. Some of the boxes are very restrictive in terms of encoding, MKV profiles etc.

The files would be mostly on a USB stick, I suppose eventually she might want to start using an external hard drive. That Cyclone micro player looks good to me, I have just seen they have a version 3 out that has better playback for a few quid more.
