Easy way to show my Nvidia 1070 is running as fast as it should be?

I've just updated from an old AMD 7870 to a new MSI Gaming X 1070...

I must admit it doesn't see as fast as I thought would be. For example in Rainbow Six Siege I'm still have to choose medium settings to retain 60fps (1920x1200) in the benchmark option.

Is there an easy test/comparison to show this thing is running as fast as it should be?

It's called MSI Afterburner, should show you stats as well as allow you to tweek it. Should have come with the card originally.
Andi.

I would download either Unigine Valley or Heaven and give them a run at 1080p on the Extreme setting at 1080p.

Post your score in this thread and I am sure someone will be able to tell you whether the results are comparable.

You can also look for the benchmark threads for those 2 benchmarks but most scores are slightly inflated as people have done what they can to get as higher score as possible.

Already got all that jazz!!!

Something odd has happened. I ended up having to re-install the drivers (again) and now even ULTRA is giving me 60fps for example in Rainbow Six Siege! And the GPU is only show about half usage at times! Wow! Infact the fans didn't even come on!

So now it clearly IS running faster!

That's the OCUK magic for you.

Good to hear it's worked out! Just FYI if you're switching sides in terms of GPU brands in the future, look up DDU to properly uninstall the old graphics driver before switching. That might have been part of the issue
