Hi All, may be a bit long winded, apologies but thank-you to anyone that reads to the end!
I have a Fritz!box 5530 and Tp-Link RE450 extender currently running together as a mesh, both devices have latest firmware. The 450 has a static IP with default gateway as per the routers IP address, DHCP on the extender is off. Any devices connecting to the extender do not show up in the client list of the router, only the extender. Go into the room with the router and they pop up in the client list. I have tried setting the extender to obtain its IP from the router and tried DHCP set to on but neither makes any difference to that. Also when I check the mesh overview page on the router it says there are no active devices connected to the mesh, which when connected thru the extender, there are.

The router also has a wireguard vpn set up on it and I can choose which devices I want to use the vpn tunnel. Only problem is no devices, apart from the extender, appear in the list, or rather more specifically, only those in the same room as the router which the pc isnt. Enabling the vpn for the extender doesnt seem to work, my pc still shows my ISP provided IP even tho it's connected to said extender. Sometimes tho 2 entries for the PC will appear in the vpn list, at the same time! Disabling either entry and leaving the other on bypasses the vpn. Even stranger when there are 2 entries in the vpn list there are also 2 entries in the routers client list for the PC with different IP addresses but it cant have 2 IP's at the same time from the same DHCP server surely. The PC is set up on the router to always use the same IP, X.X.X.25 the other entry that shows up is 26.

Whilst as I said, it does appear to mostly work the biggest issue is if there arent 2 entries in the client list for the PC I cant set it to use the vpn and whether there are or not seems to be completely random. I'd like to be able to understand what's going on a bit better and if possible rectify the system so it works how I would expect.

It may just be a case of the router and extender, being from different manufacturers, aren't quite as compatible as they need to be but if anyone has any experience of similar set up or problems than any help would be greatly appreciated.
