Since I moved out of my parents house (so ~10 years) I have generally just cooked things and put together a mix and match of items that are healthy and taste nice.

e.g. tonight I had 3 tomatoes, a tin of tuna, a sweet potato, brocolli and 2 eggs.

My housemates girlfriend said "You eat weird stuff" - I told her to get back to her plate of profiteroles and stop worrying about me

Anyone else do this and/or think its weird?

Tomorrow im having a chicken breast, salad, 2 eggs for lunch. Breakfast 2 slices of brown bread with peanut butter, porridge and honey

Isn't this how cooking works.

You know you stick a few things that you like and taste well together on a plate.

Your meal doesn't sound particularly strange to me

No, not weird. I've often just picked and mixed what I want if it is 'balanced' and tastes nice.
Isn't this really how chefs like Heston Blumenthingy work anyway?

I don't plan to eat weird combinations, but if things which don't ordinarily go together are all I have left, then that's what I'll be eating!

I drink balsamic vinegar from the bottle. I'll eat roast chicken thighs including the bones. I'll have my dinner in front of me which will typically have one meet, potato and two vegetables rather mix I'll consume my dinner by food groups, veggies, protein, carbs everytime.

Trust me your not even close to weird.

It does sound like you've just bunged random stuff on a plate...why not get some lettuce and turn that random array into a nice tuna salad?

Nothing wrong with that.

I lived with a couple of Lebanese chaps a few years ago and I came back to the flat once to find them eating liver (as in actual liver) on toast.

That was weird.

But then, they thought I was made for eating fish and chips together.

Come back when you're putting tuna on your cornflakes. :p

I generally have a cooked lunch (homemade chili, curries etc.).

In the evening I make salads a bit like what you say because I am not too kean on lettuce. I just throw different raw vegetables, cold tinned chick peas or kidney beans, ham or cheese, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, onion, left over chicken etc on a plate, bit of dressing and eat.

Do you lift bro? sounds like it has all the vitamin, minerals and protein a young man needs to grow. just have more!
