Eating out in Edinburgh

Hi all, i am taking the Girlfriend to Edinburgh for the weekend in May, and i am looking for suggestions for places to eat, we are staying in Grassmarket at the Apex hotel so places near there would be great.

I have been before but have only ventured into the Town centre and royal mile, not been futher down than that.

Looking for everyday sort of places, but maybe somthing special for a saturday night meal
