Ebay 4770k...

i just picked up a very cheap CPU of ebay.
Listed as...

4770k Working but delidded... he go's onto say he will not take responsibility for user damage
See if you can spot why its not working, i will not even bother putting it in a motherboard.

Any idea what could do that damage in the length of the die, thats got to take some force

Didn't the crack show in the eBay listing?

no it was a stock image

Might of even tried a direct mount and over tightened the cooler

i never thought of that.

Either way at least you can return it as it was ebay, they will always side with you as the buyer

I would say he's made it flex in a vice, the silicon is a crystal so will not bend - it'll just snap/crack. It's a good effort, almost exactly across the middle of the die.

it dose cover the full length of the die

Is the green substrate bent? If you follow the crack to the end of the package does it look bent when you look at the edge end on?

No that looks to be fine

I don't understand, surely the seller/scammer knows you will get a refund?

Fake/Stolen PayPals are used. I have seen people sell 40 sticks of ram for £30 each. You can withdraw from PayPal instantly. Then when items are refunded the PayPal go's overdrawn.

If somthing is Cheap as heel and they have no or low feedback 9 time out of 10 its a scam. i have got good at spotting them

The guy said it was fine when he sent it. I had to wait 14days and ebay refunded me.

I got a postage paid label too so I was not out of pocket
