Hi all,

Finally decided to spend my Sunday getting rid of a whole heap of stuff on eBay, spent a good 2 hours photographing everything, logged into eBay, clicked sell and I get this message:

Alert! Your account may have been accessed by a third party. In an effort to protect your account, we have put a temporary block on bidding, selling and the ability to send messages to other eBay members until we can safely restore your account to you. Please click here to contact eBay Customer Support for assistance in removing this temporary account restriction.

Anyone know how long they take to resolve this? Ive sent them a mail but theres no phone support or anything. I swear ive had this problem before and I did something that solved the problem but I cant remember what! Any ideas?

Thanks in advance. :(

Well i had a similar sort of case with my ebay account and i emailed them and at the time, they were not that helpful. I sent them an email basically saying what do i do now etc and it seemed to take them days to reply! Give them time! I ended up changing my password and all other private data to prevent anyone else from trying to access my account.

Thanks for the reply, guess theres nothing I can do then other than to wait days on end for them to lift the block, absolutly ridiculous, I bet its because I changed my password the other day :(

It could well be, the slightest change you make to your own account and they automatically assume "invasion" lol you'l just have to sit it out!

From reading the eBay forums yonks ago there's Live Help which you might be able to use to get the ban lifted asap. I'd suggest you do a search on there for it and see what comes up.

Aha, after a bit of digging, ive just found the livechat, thanks, heres the link just in case anyone may need:

Although im in an eight minute wait for the next agent to come on its been like that for 10 minutes now!

i had exactly the same happen to me earlier this year, posted a thread on it, someone listed loads of fake bags in my acount and ebay intervined, sent me mail to tell me (good of them i thought), anyway, i just had to confirm i was who i was and change my password and they sent me a confirmation link and i was back up and running again, don't remember it taking long either, couple of days i think.
