I might be abit paranoid here but i have a bit of a situation.

I sold my Wife iPhone 11 on ebay last night, right upto the last second everything seem to be fine, then i get this slightly over inflated bid which obviously won.

Got up this morning to find a message saying can i ship it quickly as it's a gift for a person leaving the country which i found abit strange, also this person checked what time my post office was open again strange.

Also ebay has decided to put a hold on the funds for no reason, I've sold plenty on ebay expensive as well & never had any payments on hold & never had a problem now suddenly this.

I thinking now rather than risk potentially loosing this phone is cancelling the order, but as the money is on hold will ebay refund this person from the money that on hold or will they dip into my bank account to refund him/her, leaving me out of pocket & money in limbo?

Typical wife already packed it up and paid ebay postage for it, tbh i not bothered about loosing £7 if it means not loosing the phone are you 100% sure they won't dip into my bank account.

If you cancel any item with a bid on it you get charged the final fees regardless. You will not get that final fee money back.

You cant just not send an item because you think its a scam..follow proper protocol to protect yourself and talk to the buyer more to give an accurate date of dispatch and if they are ok with that
Following Ebay Protocol could potentially mean loosing a phone as we all know as a seller you hardly have any right's, the scammer will get a phone & ebay will protect them, Wife will be out of pocket & the Police will do nothing.
