Subject: SB NOTICE: eBay Registration Suspension - Shill Bidding

Hello sav****03 (******@ntlworld.com),

This email is to notify you that your account has been suspended for a minimum of 7 days due to breach of our Shill Bidding Policy.

Shill Bidding is bidding that artificially increases an item’s price or apparent desirability. Shill Bidding is prohibited on eBay. Information on eBay’s Shill Bidding Policy can be found at:

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/seller-shill-bidding.html

Your account has been found to be involved in Shill Bidding with the following associated accounts:

maggiesimpson12

You are prohibited from using eBay in any way (including use of other existing accounts or registering new accounts) during your suspension.

Any listings that you currently have open have been cancelled. Please note that any fees incurred for these listings will not be credited back to your account.

Your account will remain suspended for a minimum of 7 days, after which time you may appeal the suspension by replying to this email.

Regards,

i suppose the obious question is: have you been bidding on items sold by maggiesimpson12? if so did you have any intention of buying them and why would ebay think you didn't?

your best option is to reply to the e-mail and contest the suspension

edit: actually scratch that - could potentially be a scam... reel you in a bit then get you to "log in" etc....

go and check e-mail and there should be a way of contesting it online

i just thought it was a fake, but seems ok, it is not asking me to login or anything, i don't remember bidding on anyone by that name.

as i say be a little warey, it could easily be a way of lulling you into trusting the e-mails before getting you to log in... go and check your account and go from there

Make sure if you reply to them, you include bank account details, home address, DOB and when your home will be unoccupied

/please don't!

Is there a copy of the email in your messages section in "My Ebay"? (If you can still sign in then I would call BS)

Could always forward the email to eBay themselves and they should get back to you and tell you if its genuine or not.

If it's a real banned email, then, unless it's changed since I was banned, you'll see a copy of the message and lots of red writing whenever you sign into your Ebay account or try to bid or sell on Ebay. If there's no sign of it there then it's a fake of some sort.

If it's real, then you're banned for suspected shill bidding - which means they think you bidded on that person's items in order to raise the price (ie. if it's a second account, or the account of a friend who's prices you're trying to put up), rather than because you wanted the item. (which is against the rules).

If you bidded on that person's items but did so legitimately then either deal with 7 days or contact ebay about it, and try not to look so suspicious in the future! Repeatedly bidding on one person's items or failing to pay before bidding on the same item from the same seller again are the sort of things that will make them suspicious.

If it's real and you didn't bid on any items by that person then your account must have been compromised, you should change your password and contact Ebay about it.

If it doesn't say your real name anywhere in the email then ignore it, as ebay will never address you by your user name only and will have your real name.

maggiesimpson12 has won a few of your items and bid on a few things that you have won, check your feedback. I cant see where the problem is as she won the items so its not like you have gained anything if you were working together.
