Hi,

Bought an item on ebay.
Won the item on friday 17th Nov.
Paid for the item on fri 17th nov.
Paid via paypal which used my debit card for the money.
i have sent emails and messages via ebay asking what is going on. I have heard nothing.

Shall i send another message threatening a paypal dispute? Or the police?

Or should i start a paypal dispute?

There was no box on the listing saying paypal buyer protection.

Depends on how much the item was, how long delivery was quoted as, if it was bought off a power seller with thousands of feedback. I noramly give it at least a week

its only been 5 days. You have to give them at least ten days (says ebay policies). If you havent received any contact or the item within 10 days go through the item not received process.

If it was a large item remember it can take upto 5 days to be delivered via royal mail standard parcels!

Hello there,

eBay and Paypal, being the same company, have a good policy on money returns and items not being delivered etc.

First of all, put as "Item Not Recieved", which is a basic way of starting a complain in eBay, give the guy negative feedback etc.

Once you have completed these steps, if you hear nothing then proceed to complain through paypal, have a look around it should be under resolution centre.. enter a complaint there and the seller will have to enter a mail tracking number and provide good details within 28 days, if he dosent, you will get your money back.

Hope this helps

Tyler :)

Its only the 3rd working day after paying for it..you can't do anything until at least 10 days after you paid for it. Search for "dispute" on the website.

You work for them, don't you? :p

P.S. CLAIMED!!! \o/ My first of many. Mwuhahahahaha!

@ the OP,

5 days ain't a long time. Give it a while and be patient. I've waited 2 weeks for stuff before, and I've never been let down. Your item will be on it's way soon!

I wish I worked for them, id earn a lot more by the hour that i currently do lol.

Ive had problems with eBay before.. it can be horrific at times, but honest people always win, so fight ** corner.

Not the way I'd do it.

Report item as not received. If eBay whines that you must wait x amount of days, then login to paypal > resoloution centre > file a dispute, and select your transaction ID. Either way, file a dispute.

Don't waste time - just elevate the case, the minute you create it. This way, Paypal start to work on your case ASAP, rather than two days after you give the seller a chance.

Once payment is received, THEN leave -ve feedback. Sometimes part of agreement with Paypal disputes, is that you must remove -ve feedback before you get your refund - this way round, gets past that. :)

This has happened to me , I paid Via Paypal , via my Credit card, for an item on the 12th, . I emailed the seller Monday night there, and he said he sent it next day. So you guys are sayign I should wait until Friday/Sat morn post (10working days?), then start the above process.

If paypal mess me about, can I go through my CC company instead? I told the seller I'd be doing this if I didn't get my item.

(it's a electric window motor for my old car and it's bloody annoying driving around with a taped up window)

5 days... 2 of which are the weekend. That is totally unreasonable to start threatening him with the police. Infact, I believe you cant even do this until it has been 7 or 10 days. Some people have jobs which make it difficult to get to the post office, cut him some slack and show some patience.

its just i haven't had any emails from them at all. which i find a little strange.
To be fair, I've bought things from people on eBay in the middle of the week, and not had so much a peep out of the seller until Sunday.

I understand it's worrying, but bide your time.

well i sent an email on thursday saying i would open a dispute on friday.

I get no reply.

I open the dispute on Paypal. I think paypal may have phone her? Do they do that?

Anyways i get an email from her that evening. And she posts it on Saturday!

It is amazing what it will take some people to act. I'm studying to be a solicitor and I must say on the smaller scale, (so person v person, not business v business) the amount of money solicitors make simply by sending a threatening letter is ridiculous.
